I've been going to a weekly Breastfeeding Support Group since my son was 2 months old.

I know some women there who exlusively breastfed who got their periods back after six weeks to three months.

Some of us (like me) didn't get it back till 8 or 9 months.

My cousing, who is a nurse, an LC, and a nursing mother has told me that night-feedings are key to delaying the return of your period. So if your baby's sleeping more at night, you might get yours sooner.

Some women do get their period back quickly and others don't. If you are nursing exclusively normall the period doesn't return for several months. I nursed both of my boys for almost 2 years and didn't get my period back for 18 months after their births. A friend of mine got hers in 6 months. Nursing is the best! Not only for the baby's health but it is convenient and bonds you and your baby like nothing else. Good luck.

It depends on the person. Some women start their period a few months after they have given birth. Others wait several months before their period shows.

Sometimes. But don't think you are not going to get pregnant if you are not getting your period. It's not a form of birth control and many unsuspecting women have ended up with another little surprise in 9 months.

i didn't get my period until after i stopped breastfeeding. I quit breastfeeding about 2 months ago, but i had been breastfeeding for 7 months already and my son was getting a tooth so it didn't feel too good while breastfeedng. I was told by a few "seasoned" mothers that you won't get your period while breastfeeding but i think it just depends on your hormones really.

If you are exclusively breastfeeding you period will be delayed. How delayed varies depending on the woman, and how much you are breastfeeding.
In my experience most people start menstrutating soon after introducing solids into a baby's diet

When you are only breast feedling, you probably won't get it, but the less he or she drinks from you and eats solids and baby food, it should start up again. 8 months for me.

My daughter was 9 months old before I had my first period. She breastfed until 13 months. :) It was great.

Good luck to you!
