Flirting through aggression??????????????
My best friend is always hitting me playfully. She is a girl, I'm a guy, we are 15, and people keep saying she is flirting. Today, for example, she just hit me in the head with a school book (lol) for no reason. We have known each other for 2 years. First off, do you think this actually is her way of flirting? She doesn't do it to other people. And also, what should I do back? Should I also playfully mess around with her?

Sure, playfully. Just don't hit her in the head with a schoolbook. Or punch her in the arm. Or trip her in the hall. Don't be aggressive. Pretend you're scared when she comes at you with the book. You can try to grab her hand when she goes to hit you, but turn it into hand-holding, for instance, just for a second. Like that.

She may or may not be flirting. No one on here can really tell you either way because we can't see her do it. There's more to flirting than the action itself. As far as what you should do back, yes be playful, but gently. Most girls don't like to play too rough. There's a line you can't cross or you ruin any chance you might have had. And lastly, you're too young to be dating anyway. So whether she's flirting or not, it doesn't matter. You're not ready for a relationship. Believe me. I'm 16 and I wish I had never had a boyfriend because I wasn't ready. I was too naive, like every other person is until they're at least 20 and have lived on their own for a while. Don't rush into anything. You have time. You have the rest of your life.

Well, I'd say that it is her way of flirting... well maybe.... it depends how long ago she started.... or she could be doing it b/c she feels comfortable around you therefore she thinks that she can be herself and have fun around you(You''re getting this answer from a girl). If you like her u can playfully mess around with her. Even if u don't like her in that sort of way u can still do it. It depends if u are the type of guy who would do that...... and even if u do playfully mess around with her or if she does the same thing it dosent meen that u guys like eachother....it could meen that u r both good friends, I meen my guy friends (that already have girlfriends) do the same thing..... it's just a mean's of friendship (most of the time)

Yes. Physical contact is a good indicator of flirting, She is using physical contact to communicate to your nature. If you break it down how would you flirt with her. You would relate to her by talking, communicating, expressing "your feelings". Physical activities, ball playing, wrestling, sports"sex" are very much mostly a male thing. Relating, relationships, fashion are indicators of women's identifiable attributes. Just remember when relationship and physicalness combine responsibility kicks in. Ask her if she wants a hug instead of giving you a book beating. Study her body language and yours. If you lean your shoulder into her space(leaning on a table while talking) you are definitely flirting with her. If she can't take her eyes off of you while you are talking and isn't afraid to look away she is very attentive and is flirting with you. Lastly, a kiss to a girl is an invitation of affection, trust and pass to be physical. Do what is natural but be responsible and know your limitations for future consequences.

Yes, she could well be flirting, that is what you 15 year olds do. Yeah, playfully mess around with her and see how she responds.

No, do not hit her back.

What you ought to do is the next time she hits you, say: "You know, I really don't appreciate it when you do that. I know you're only playing, but its not funny!"
If she continues, start being aware of your surroundings - if she steps in to punch or slap you, move out of range; if she hits you with an object, take it away from her; in either instance, tell her: "Look! I asked you nicely NOT to hit me!"

Hopefully she'll get the message. And if she's so thick that she actually doesn't get it, then maybe its time to just move on to a less physically expressive "friend."

She is flirting! i used to do that alot with this certain guy liked! But what you should do back is simply play back! Don't hit her back though! It's kinda difficult we just waant you to show some type of attention! She's probably scared to tell you that she likes you! Girls around that age sometimes are veery shy and they don't really know how to express themselves when it comes to guys! Tell her you like her, but only if you do! Then she might tone down on hitting you much! If you don't like her just put her down gently! Don't hurt her feelings tehn she'll hate you and really hit you!
