i like this girl so much i wouldn't mind just being friends. i want to know the steps to become her friend. she is 3 grades ahead of me in high-school. i dont if this matters, but she is my height. she says hi
to me in the halls, and is really nice. also, i asked her if she would work with me on a health project and she said yes.

Sounds like she may be very open to being your friend. Just be nice to her. Be mature, avoid all the so-called drama games like jealousy and crap like that. A more mature girl will appreciate someone that is above all the teenage drama. Besides that stuff is dangerous and not a game at all!
Also, focus on your future. Girls like guys with dreams and plans. Know the difference between a dream and a plan.
Most importantly take care of you, develop yourself, improve yourself. Learn to love yourself. Then if this girl doesn't appreciate you it won't seem like the end of the world-- cause it really isn't!
