Amtrak doesn't go out your way.

There are communter trains across northern New Jersey (some of which reach into NY,but not Penn).

The farthest west NJT trains go are Hackettstown or Gladstone; NJT and Metro-North cooperate to run the Port Jervis line (as far as I know, this offers less options; The Hackettstown/Dover area offer the most trips, and shortest trips.
