italian dual citizenship?

this is to pertaining to me but especially my mother. If my mother is 1/4 Italian and her mother is 1/2 italian and her mother (grandmother) is italian. That means she can aplly for dual citizenship right? But were kind of worried because my mom's mother and grandmother are dead and we might be short on papers. But if my mom gets this citizenship that means me too right?(1/8 italian)

I believe it has to be of your fathers side not mothers. Do a web search as there are sites that answer this question correctly.

i'm 1/4 italian and i automatically got italian citizenship. oh exept its my father who is half italian, that might change something.
