I think maybe you should try to get him off of doing that, by ignoring him or something else. It will become a learned behavior and he may end up avoiding facing the real issue on other things throughout the rest of his life, instead focusing his frustration on people and things unrelated to the incident.

I think this is a good oportunity to start teaching your young one the Ten Commandments, let him know that The Commandments say "thou shalt not use the Lords name in vain". teach him that God isnt happy when we use his name in disgust no matter how old or how young we are, also teach him that they command that you honor your father and mother. if he loves the Lord he will hide the commandments in his heart and he will always have them. If you brgin your child up with a reverance and knowledge of what God expects he will not fall away. The Commandments will also show the need for a savior. God Bless

Ok, 5 years old seems real young to me ~ and I'm not sure your boy can understand the complexities of what he is saying. If I were in your shoes, ( mine is 4 ) I would say it hurts God when he says things like that, not you. I wouldn't threaten hell or anything, but I would let him know that it is God that decides if you go to heaven ~ not mommy. So don't say things like that, it hurts God's feelings. Now when he says he doesn't care, you then say "alright then, but I'm not sure you'll get to go to heaven with me then. All He ( God ) wants is your love."

My child says that he hates me when he's angry. Obviously your family is deeply rooted in your religion, and he knows that it will upset you. Let him say what he wants, because that is probably not how he feels. He's grown with your religion, and a 5 year old cannot make sound decisions on this type of situation.

Like you say,he's just trying to make you angry. Just ignore him
when he makes these outbursts, his true feelings are probably much different.

don't worry about this action as he may be testing you to see how far you will go since the outbursts are religious based. he is also growing and exploring the world around him which is good. he will be fine as he grows in wisdom and knowledge his outburst will change also.

I think you should allow you son to have freedom of (from) religion until he is old enough to make up his own mind as to which belief system he wants to follow.
