There was an interesting study done with the random public. The results indicated that the overall public did not know the 10 commandments but could readily list ten brands of beer. The moral of the story was that it is no wonder society has lost there way. To first understand God we must know the primary guidelines for moral living.

Very valid point. I doubt most of us could without stumbling at least once.

The ten commandments:

1. Thou shalt have no other gods before me.
2. Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image.
3. Thou shalt not take the name of the Lord thy God in vain.
4. Remember the sabbath day, to keep it holy.
5. Honour thy father and thy mother.
6. Thou shalt not kill.
7. Thou shalt not commit adultery.
8. Thou shalt not steal.
9. Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor.
10. Thou shalt not covet.

Beer:

(what I have tasted so far- and where):

1. Carlsberg (Cyprus)
2. Millers's Draft (South Africa)
3. Efes (Turkey)
4. Heineken (South Africa and Namibia)
5. Amstel (South Africa)
6. KEO (Cyprus)
7. Black Label (South Africa)
8. Kilkenny (South Africa and Dubai)
9. Guinness (South Africa)
10. Lion Larger (the South African one which I think is not on the market anymore)
11. Zebra (a South African tribal beer which is absolutely revolting)

(other beer I just know of, don't think I have tasted them):

12. Carling
13. Stein lager
14. Beck's
15. Budweiser

Apparently there are more than 20 000 brands of beer worldwide, brewed in 180 different styles. Ales, lagers, pilsner, stouts, bitters, cream ales and iced beers. Did you know that?

I must say, to list the ten Commandmends was way easier, because there are just 10 and that's it! To remember the names of all the beer was difficult, some of them I have only tasted once or twice. It took me a while!

Not such a good point. There are only ten commandments but many, many brands of beer. "Can you name all ten" is very much harder than "can you name ten out of thousands of".

There are a whole range of puzzles that surround the difficulty of completing a list. "Name five English league football teams with an "X" in their name" is one. Utterly trivial I know, also incredibly and surprisingly difficult. "Name five Beatles songs" is easy - there are so many to chose from. I think its more a feature of human memory than the relative importance of the subject.

And then there is the difference between "know" and "be able to recall on cue". I'm sure many of the people questioned didn't remember the commandment against murder - but there not all murderers!

From Memory but not necessarily in order (nor am I claiming it's correct - just trying to see if I can do it)

1) Thou shalt have no other God before me
2) Remember the Sabbath day and keep it Holy
3) Take not the name of the Lord thy God in vain
4) Honor thy father & thy mother
5) Thou shalt not kill
6) Thou shalt not steal
7) Thou shalt not bear false witness against thy neighbor
8) Thou shalt not covet thy neighbor's wife
9) Thou shalt not covet they neighbor's goods
10) Thou shalt honor the Lord God with all thy heart
and all thy soul

Beers ( I don't drink them, but Heaven knows I've seen commercials)

1) Coors
2) Miller
3) Budweiser
4) Henry Weinhartt (sp?)

Can't actually name any more by name - though I can kind of remember their commercials a little.

This, btw, from a Pagan

Thou shalt no longer have the different gods in the previous me. Thou shalt no longer make for thyself any graven photograph of something in the earth or on earth or in the heavens. Thou shalt no longer kill Thou shalt no longer devote adultery Thou shalt no longer covet thy neighbor, or thy acquaintances spouse, or something this is thy acquaintances. Thou shalt honor thy mom and thy father that thy days could be long upon the land. ok. So.. 5. no longer undesirable for being very almost 30, and that i had to memorize them in third grade, and that i do no longer bear in suggestions the final time I study all 10 of them... consistent with probability a pair months in the past..
