Call any of the vet groups for that era for leads.
Do not be too willing to get rid of those photos. They may not hold any significant historical value but these may contain a last image of someone's deceased relative. Or, they may have some value to a former member of that particular company.
There are Viet Nam Vet groups collecting images for historical purposes. Too many photos with historical significance have been lost; your father-in-law's photos may have some value for someone, if not for historical value, for sentimental purposes. Hold on to those and try to get as much information about your father-in-law and his tour of duty as you can.
There are indeed some former vets that would want to put the war to rest, and are walking around with images or flashbacks, but there are some that are still looking forward to a memorial of some kind to honor their fallen comrades and fellow soldiers. There are also some still looking for images of those that did not return, lost family members, lost friends.
You've made a good start. Now follow through and see about getting in touch with former Nam groups. Good luck and best wishes.

Almost every soldier had a camera at the time and the war was on the news daily. I, myself, have over 100 photos. They probably have no value except to the person who took them.

Emm I'm not sure but I have some really awesome photo's of the Vietnam "war" too. They were taken by my dad. And no way would I want to sell them! But I'm sure people would want to buy some, but you'd have to sell them cheep. When I went to the U.S. I bought some photo's of the time era for 3 AmeriKan dollars, at a "yard sale". =)

It depends on the content; If your father-in-law took some shots that are inspiring , historically significant or unique, then they might be worth something; otherwise, not much....

If your husband's father is still alive and want them, then give them back to him. Otherwise, y ou should destroy them. If you father in law has had a lot of problems because of Vietnam experience, go ahead and destroy them.
