There is this one girl that rides the same bus as i do. She sometimes asks me to sit next to her. I asked her out to homecoming and she said yes. During a 4 day weekend from school, she emailed me saying she misses me. Is this what a friend would usually say? or does she really like me?

Your asking, is this what a friend would usually say? It matters how your relationship is. Are you guys just friends or are you guys boyfriend and girlfriend.
If you guys are friend, that means she just misses you. It doesn't mean anything serious, but she might like you are only like you as a friend, but I hardly doubt it.
If you guys are going out, she definitley misses you and likes you of course.
From what you've typed, she likes you and does miss you. Reply to that e-mail, "I miss you too." How a girl will react to that is, :) or she might ask you out. Either way, it's a good sign. If you want, you can ask you out in the same e-mail, and maybe she'll say yes!

I think the girl wants to initiate a basis for a friendship, then, if she feels comfortable and feels you two click, she will move on to a more serious relationship. I would just go with the flow and follow her lead. It is obvious she is interested. I think she wants to take it slow and easy and not throw herself at you, and I think you are doing the proper thing in taking it easy yourself. Enjoy the moment!
