I have a 10 year old son who, from the age of 10 months and started to walk, has been an absolute horror. He has run off numerous times as he is afraid of nothing. He is untidy, thoughtless, can be lazy when work to be done, answers back, sulks, selfish, thinks we have a money tree in the garden and comes home from school covered in lunch with trousers torn and undefinable substances on his uniform, and (of course) mud up his trousers.

When, however, he comes for a cuddle, brings me a coffee in the morning or we share a joke together, I realise he is the light of my life. He is the one thing I am proud of and I wouldnt be without him for all the money in the world, I love him so much.
Yeah, kids are great..arent they!

They are little miracles....after having two miscarriages over 30 years ago I finally had a boy and a girl who are now 30 and 26 The youngest bought a house two years ago and the other is trying to get on the 'property ladder' at the minute. (Have just spent today looking at houses) No matter what age they are, you worry about them. Silly me cried when the first one left home - God only knows what it will be like when my daughter leaves home.) Appreciate them while they're young - they grow up too quickly - don't be too fussy about the housework - there's plenty of time to do that when they have left home. :)

Children are our most beloved gift in the worl.I consider them as our inmortality(our way of staying young),wether it be one ore a hundred they can always teach us something new and make us feel alive and free.Their innocence in our world always amazes me and scares the hell out of me.If it wasn't for children where would we be?.lol I come from a family of 5 and my mother from a family of 17 all girls and one boy oh lord.want to learn something new everday start having kids believe they will open your eyes to a whole new world.i f i had more space i could go on and on I love them tremendously.

Yes. They're the best thing on the planet. Lets face it: they take your life onto a completely new, unsuspected level. You're never the same again, you experience joys (and frustrations!) you had never imagined. But you only know this if you've had them - it's like a secret for initiates only and its no use trying to convince the childless - they won't believe you. They have to do it themselves.

i have two and they drive me up the wall by not listening or being naughty and messing up the house when i have just finished tiding but when they are angles then there halos shine which is most of the time, but if i am out with out my kids im lost don`t know what to do. and when they are in bed it makes it all worth while to have my chill out time can`t live without them they are my world! even if i do whinge at the husband when he comes home from work (to me I'm not whingeing just telling him about my day like he tells me about his).

Of course they are! The funny thing is our reactions to this question depending on what kind of day you have had as a parent...and whether you have a particulary demanding child (I do - she is exhausting, but nontheless 'the best thing I have ever been involved in').

What isn't great is how negative we can (as individuals, as society) can be about kids....so thanks for the reminder. I am knackered but appreciative of the chance to be a good mum!

Lmao are you trying to convince us or yourself!!

Mine got out of bed today grunted at me put yesterdays clothes on and went out! Oh joy - I'm so glad I've got him!!

I am glad really - even though I've just spent two hours ironing clothes he'll just chuck on the floor and cooking a dinner he'll shove down his throat as quickly as he can so that he can get back to his friends!!
