Minstrels Candy

In France, Germany, The Netherlands and the United Kingdom, Peanut M&M's were known as Treets until 1990. Additionally, Toffee Treets were also available for some time. The chocolate versions were called Bonitos until the brand became M&M's. This was partly due to the market dominance of the similar candy Smarties which made competing under anything but a very high profile brand difficult, with the added risk of reducing sales of the existing Treets brand. Though Treets used the same "melt in your mouth not in your hand" slogan in the UK in the 1970s, this was transferred to Minstrels when the Treets brand was dropped.

I remember them being very similar, I also liked the caramel treats, I think the chocolate treats were a different shape but they tasted very similar to minstrels. I loved Galaxy counters too, ahhhhh choccy bliss..........

Just read the answer from the lady above, hi Tagi_65 Snickers was called Marathon for many years in the UK - I guess because of international branding they decided to change the name!!!

Don't know about minstrels and treats, but I am pretty sure whoever said Snickers were Marathons is wrong (unless this is a UK question maybe).

In the U.S., Marathons were a long thing caramel candy coated with chocolate that was loosely braided. Snickers are a traditional candy bar with nuts.

I`m fairly particular they have continuously been Minstrels. you would properly be deliberating yet another sweet referred to as Vice Versa that were Minstrels in white and milk chocolate, with white shells on the milk and Vice Versa!

Yes. They were called Chocolate, or All Chocolate Treats. There were also toffee Treats, and I, for one, regret that they are no longer available
Oh and when Starburst were called Opal Fruits, (made to make your mouth water,) there were also Opal Mints, called Pacers
