Asking a girl out - to go to a concert?

I want to ask someone on a date, to go to a concert with me. i've never spoken to her before so we're not friends or anything, but should i get her to pay? if i get her to pay, it doesn't seem very romantic but if i don't it seems over-the-top for a first date. what should i do?

by the way the tickets are at least 65 pounds each - so it's quite a big deal if i do pay, is there a polite way of telling her i'll pay if the date goes anywhere?

ooooh-don't ask her to pay! You don't even know her, man! The best way to get a girl to go on a date with you that you never even spoke to before is to have bait. Those concert tickets-free-are bait.

Kindly approach her when she isn't surrounded by her friends or anything and ask her if she would like to go to a (band's name here) concert with you-no strings attached. Just pure, friendly fun. If you get her to go and she realizes how cool a guy you are-then things may develop from there. Good Luck!

I would assume that on a first date that you instituted, you would pay for the concert. If possible arrange for a mutual friend to introduce you to the lady. If the lady declines, remember that there are many other ladies. I wish you well.

that's a bit cheeky isn't it....you are going the wrong way about impressing her, take her out and stop being a tight wad...after all...it's YOU who wants to take her out....IF or when you get to know her better then maybe suggest going halves on your dates...but no don't have her pay on your first date....she'll run a mile...and what if she turns you down....have you thought about that?

if your asking you should pay...its polite to do so and the guy should always offer to pay.....it will show her you like her
