Actually I have seen them pay and then come back later that day and ask for a refund. The hair dresser will refund the money.

They have provided a service. If you don't like it...
(1) Tell them you aren't satisfied and would like it corrected. If they won't or don't.
(2) Pay them......sans tip. And make sure you let them know you won't be back and that you will be letting others know.
(3) If they've done a really crap job.....you can always go to small claims court.
I must ask tho'....every time you leave the hairdresser??? Why do you keep going back there? Find a new stylist.

I don't know about refusing to pay for the haircut, but you certainly don't need to leave a tip.
Maybe switch hairdressers?

I have seen this alot and being a hairstylist myself I have never understood it...I always ask my clients to explain or show me a pic, then we go from there, like if i need to offer suggestions to something a little different depending on hair type. I have people tell me the stylist doesnt even ask them they just do it, i wouldnt know where to begin without input from a client! Just keep searching for a good stylist, we are out there! How about asking other people who have similar hair to urs where do they go then when u hear the same name a couple of times try that stylist and explain to them what has happened to u in the past, ask to look at hairstyle books or take a picture of wut u like and discuss it first.

Just change your hairdresser until you find a good one. And stick to that.
If they haven't provided you with the service that you have asked for, you can refuse to pay, of course. But make it clear before they start cutting that you're not going to pay if they do something other then you ask for.

Yes, you can refuse to pay. And call a manager to cut it how you want it. Most places want their customers to leave happy

You need to find a stylist that does what you want and stick to that one stylist. I wouldn't pay for a bad haircut.
