The Eucharist is treated with a very high respect by Catholics and there are various ways it can be carried/distributed: in a pyx, luna or an actual ciborium. All three are basically the appropriate containers for the Catholic sacrament.

"Sending out the ministries": these containers are being taken from the Church to the people (many of whom could not otherwise come into contact with them easily, such as the sick or elderly).

The "Ordinary Eucharistic Minister" is a bishop, priest, or deacon.

Lay people who distribute the Eucharist are called "Extraordinary Eucharistic Ministers."

A person who takes Eucharist to the sick or home-bound is called an "Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister to the Sick" or an "Extraordinary Eucharistic Minister of Care"

With love in Christ.
