advantix or frontline plus. both are good for killing ticks.
it's just a matter of preferance to which one works the best for you.

Presume you mean ticks not twitches? If there aren't too many you are best to remove them with a tick hook - you can get them in most pet shops and vets and they cost a couple of quid. You just attach the end under the tick, turn the hook anticlockwise (I think..) a few times and out it will pop.
If you live or walk your dog in an area which is infested with ticks then Frontline drops are good at putting the little blighters off - but not 100%.

Frontline is a very effective tick control for your pet. I think there is some confusion on how the drug works. It kills the ticks, it does not cause them to drop off from your pet. Some people seem to think that because the ticks are still attatched, Frontline is not working. That is not the case.
Remember, when you apply either Frontline or Advantix, (which works the same way, and is effective as well), allow the drops to fully dry before getting your pet wet. Usually, 24 hours is sufficient. Also, if your dog gets wet frequently, (swims, plays in the pond, etc.) he may need the drops every 25 days as apposed to 30. I hav one dog who gets the drops every 3 weeks, and it has worked well for him.
Hope this helps for you and your pet!:)

a tic is a facial twitch. I assume you mean ticks.
Try frontline or any other of the flea and tick treatments available from your vets.

Frontline is good. Otherwise just pull them off very quickly making sure you've got hold of the whole thing, just use tweezers, then drop the little bugger into a cup of boiling water.

When removing ticks from your pet ensure that the legs come too. Buy yourself a tick remover you just hook it over the tick twist anti clock but before I do this I soak a piece of cotton wool in a little Whiskey hold it onto to the tick this gets them intoxicated and they slacken their grip and then are very easy to remove

I agree with caesarsmom but also white spirit will make them open their jaws as does if you light a match then quickly blow it out and then touch it on the tick it should let go. If all fails grab the dam thing and turn it clockwise quickly

Front line is good but so are tick tweezers for the ones you can see! My dog had one on his eye lid and the tweezers were the quickest! My vet uses the tweezers so that must say something.

If you are taking about a household pet, go to the vet and get Advantix. If it is for livestock, my grandpa would rub baby powder on his cattle to suffocate the ticks and they would fall off and die.
The cattle would be covered in them mind you, all over their bellies, but its a cheap and effective way for killing them.
