Well I have a 2 yr old also and have had the same problems with him. What I did was reduced his naps(like 1 hour, then 30 minutes, then none) and then I would set a bedtime for him. Make a routine with him. Read a book and then tuck him in or however you would do this. Then I would wake him at 7 am and not let him have a nap all day. I would take him to the park or have home activities all throughout the day. By the time is was bath and bed time he was pooped and he sleeps through the night when i do this. Good luck on this and I hope I was some help to you.

slow down on nap time, ware him out during the day,the best thing I have found that put my son to sleep ALL night was letting him swin a couple times a day, just being out in the sun is enough to ware them out and even doing that if you don't see a change you need to sit with him by his bed a couple nights and slowly keep moving to diff. spot each night closer to the door. but don't get up when your in bed every time he cries because that just lets him know that what he's doing is working,by now you should know his cries and you'll know if he's having a bad dream or hurting or soomething,I would say that would be a good idea to get up but if he just wines or wants a drink you should give him a little just before he goes to bed and no more try it,try letting him cry for a little while. My boyfriend used to get so upset becaue I wouldn't do anything, said I was being lazy and it ticked me off so I kept to my theory and let him cry,my boyfriend got up a couple of times and realized it was for nothing and eventually he too stoped going in there and we delt with it for a little while but eventually he stopped.good luck I know how frustrating that can be!

Does he sleep alot during the day? Try to avoid naps during the day and maybe he will sleep better at night... when he does then you can give naps back during the day. Also try putting a sippy cut within reach and explain that if he needs drink he can get it and then go back to sleep.
