Yeah he ate the plastic bottle too....well most of it. Hes a big retarded Rott who so far has ate just about everything that they say should have killed him. Like the toilet cleanser thing, batteries, he even ate like a 1 lb chocolate bunny on Easter. After this I think he will need to be kept in his dam cage 24/7 although thats harder on me that it is on him.

The valium might have made him lazy for a day or so.

You did right to induce vomiting in this case....but that is not always the right thing to do with some ingested substances.

Your dog may have still absorbed some of the medication before he vomited. Valium is absorbed into the bloodstream from the stomach VERY quickly....faster than most meds.

Do people who have Internet access not also have phones???!

The thing to do is to get on the phone and CALL. Call YOUR VETERINARIAN, an animal emergency clinic, or poison control.
You really think it's wise to take advice from anonymous people on the Internet who have no verifiable medical training??? (Especially since I have seen so much WRONG information being tossed around about animal medical topics here.) *sigh*

And to answer your question...there is no way to know if he could have died from this without knowing his age, his exact weight, the health status of his liver/kidneys, etc., what dose was ingested, and how long until he vomited. Please call your veterinarian and discuss the matter, to make sure he'll be okay.

Valium is frequently prescribed for dogs, so it would depend on the dose ingested.

Norflex, I'm sure, would be the biggest concern. You did great by inducing vomiting. Watch for clinical signs of distress: extreme lethargy, drinking, eating and eliminating that is unusual, seizures, etc. If any of these occur, call the vet immediately. It wouldn't be a bad idea to call a vet (they should be on call and able to answer questions like this) and let them know what happened and what to expect.

Death would have depended on how much he ingested, but good job on helping him.
Note: Keep your pills out of the reach of animals. The caps are only child proof not pet proof LOL
