For me it means that they follow the bible in it's entirety...not picking and choosing and that they walk their talk. I believe that the Amish ppl are a good example of true chrisitans and I wonder why all christians aren't like them.

I agree. A true Christian is someone who is a Christian by more than name only. Quite a few people who call themselves Christians only say they are when it is convienent for them. Being a Christian is about perseverence, overcomming your sinful nature and being from the world but not of it.

Revelation 3:21 21 To him that overcometh will I grant to sit with me in my throne, even as I also overcame, and am set down with my Father in his throne.

True Christians live by the word of God and combine actions with their faith. They live to serve God and not themselves. They put themselves aside so that other can see the Lord working through them and live as an example of his power on earth.

You must live it and walk it. When you think about it, what other reason is there to live than for the creator since he created everything!

I am not sure why you would think that Amish are an example of a true Christian? I lived near the Amish, and they are no more or less Christian than anyone else, just because they choose to live differently.

A true Christian has a love relationship with Jesus Christ.

A true Christian is a true follower of the teachings of Christ. Not all who say they are Christian are actually so. For example, Jesus said at John 10:27, "My sheep (Jesus' followers) LISTEN to my voice, ...and they follow me." Can a true follower of Jesus be gay, when the Bible condemns such a practice? See 1 Cor. 6:9. Should a true follower of Jesus accept the title "father" in a religious sense when Jesus said that it should not be done? See Matt. 23:9. Should true Christians isolate themselves in small communities when Jesus commanded his disciples to "go and make disciples?" Matt.28:19 See also Acts 1:8. Should true Christians spread God-dishonoring lies, such as the hellfire doctrine, when the Bible clearly tells us at Ecclesiastes 9:5 that the "dead are conscious of nothing at all"? Should true Christians celebrate holidays, such as Halloween, Christmas and Easter, which are clearly pagan in origin, when the Bible tells us that things that are out of harmony with God's Word are "unclean"? See 2 Cor. 6:17. True Christians do not pick and choose what they will honor from the Bible. 1 Tim 3:16 says that "ALL Scripture is inspired by God."

The perception that anyone is a "True Christian" is strictly subjective. Anyone can claim to be a true Christian, based on their individual beliefs. These people give me a pain in the ***, because they are usually Christian fundementalists, who basically have re-written the Bible to fit their own agenda. They pick and choose which parts of the Bible are truly the word of God, and ignore the rest. To me, a true Christian would obey the Ten Commandments, the Golden Rule of "Do unto others as you would have them do unto you!" and "Love thy neighbor". I think the Amish pretty well have that covered. Myself, I don't believe in the historical fact of Jesus's divinity or anybody else's for that matter. The world is in a pretty sorry shape thanks to "True Christians" and "Devout Moslems"... But I do believe in the teachings of all the major religions whose truths are universal. You KNOW right from wrong, your choice should be pretty obvious. I try to live my life to the spirit of Christianity, not the letter!

A true Christian (in my viewpoint ) is one who walks with Jesus Christ and follows his example of being a light for others.

The Amish are a very good example of being a light for others and following Christ, though theirs is an example that few people would willingly follow (probably cause of the whole no technology thing, but people have their own reasons).

I guess when people say "____ is not a true Christian" I guess they mean that the person they are referring to is not being a real light for others (by being a very rude troll for example)... though like almost all phrases there comes a time when even phrases like these are used for the wrong reasons.

True Christians are born of God, Children of God. Jesus blood was shed for the remission of their sins & child has accepted Jesus Christ as Lord.

I believe these Amish have the fruit of forgiveness because they are born of God Christians.

Christians walk in forgiveness because Jesus forgave them. So Christians forgive others. But Christians are in different stages of maturity in their Christian walk. Some are babies, some are maturing & some are very mature. Some aren't. People are delivered from a different assortment of sins. Each Christian is peculiar & unique. Some are carnal, meaning in the flesh. Carnal Christians suffer God's discipline though. They are a work in progress also.

True Christians would be conforming to the image of Jesus. Christians = Little Christ True = True

I adore the Amish and sadly do not qualify to be one of them because I have been married before but I absolutely love them! If GOD would allow me to be Amish I would be.

May GOD richly bless ya.

Jesus is the fulfillment of prophesy and the mosaic laws of sacrifices. When God gave His only Begotten Son as our Anointed Sacrifice He caused the oblation and the daily sacrifices to end. This is not an ending of the Law of God. Their is a huge difference between God's law and the law of Moses. God's law was placed inside the Ark and the law of Moses was placed on the outside of the Ark. God's law is permanent and the law of Moses is not.
OK, what is a true christian? One who does as Jesus did, obey/keep/do God' commandments. This is what Jesus did, He magnified the law of God. A true christian does the same thing.
