The Amish are very humble, God-loving people. I am not at all surprised at how they handled the situation. That is just their way. I may find their ideas a little harsh, but I have a profound respect for them.

These Amish are born again Christians. You can tell by their fruit of forgiveness. They also forgave and conforted the murderers family.

We need to forgive others because Jesus forgave us all our sins & cleansed us from them with His shed blood. Jesus expects us to do the same. Forgive others. He is our Avenger.

Revenge imprisons us; forgiveness sets us free.

Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you. Ephesians 4:32

what they did is very favourable in God "eyes", though in Islamic perspective, the law agree for the murderer to be killed but forgiveness is greater.

The Muslims would've been too busy plotting the demise of the fellow's family and whatever church they happened to be affiliated with. They seem bloodthirsty and vengeful. I don't think they can forgive. I am beginning to beleive the bible about Ishmael being the cast away son of Abraham who is the father of Islam. He was pissed off, so he made a pissed off religion.
