It's one thing fo royu to love this guy, and it's another for him to love you back.. If he does love you, he won't be selfish because love isn't selfish at all.. You seem disturbed by the fact that he smokes and drinks a lot and if he is sensitive to your feelings, he would at least cut back on the amount of alcohol he consumes and smoking he does.. There is something called alcohol psychosis, liver cirrhosis and people are naive and refuse to believe diseases and conditions like this exist.. He seems like he needs a reality check.

You should, however, express your love to him... For how long will you keep it inside of you and watch his life waste away. Gradually, express your love then eventually, talk to him about the drinking and smoking because if you do it all at once, he might think you're some sort of a psycho.

Good luck!

I don't smoke but I am economical with the truth about Alcohol. However I read a letter to a newspaper from a member of the original board which decided what the healthy limit for alcohol should be. He described the discussion at the conclusion of the meeting when someone pointed out that if a safe limit was announced, everyone would drink up to the limit. They decided the only sensible thing to do was to cut the proposed limit in half, so as long as you are not way over the published limit, it shouldn't do to much damage.

Smoking and drinking moderately doesn't make you bad. Doing them excessively indicates a weakness in the person - that they can't cope with life without using a crutch.

Try asking him how he feels about quitting these habits. If he feels bad and wants to stop, do you have the strength to stand by him and support him? Coz it's not easy getting someone to quit these things....they'll keep falling and you have to pick them up.

If he loses his temper and says he doesn't want to quit, well it's better you stay away.

Either way, its your call: would you want to be the partner giving all the care, or would you rather wait for a better person, who'll take care of you too?

Smoking and drinking doesn't necessarily define a person's character. It only becomes a problem when you are dependent on them.. From what I read, he seems a great person and I just don't see why you'll hold that against him. What's you been from South India has anything to do with love?

Thas a sign of weakness! Stay away hun! He might hurt you one day and your not gonna like it! Ok well if he gets drunk and high all the time stay away! If he doesn't seem like he's a bad person when he is drunk and/or high you can stay but watch his actions! It's better to be safe than sorry!

I don't think that makes them a bad person, but if that's something you won't stand for then you need to let him know and/or move on. It's really up to you what you will accept or not accept.

Remember too that everybody has flaws, nobody's perfect.

Good luck

smoking affects health. but the habit of alcohol makes a human a beast. in case he is a social drinker and his consuption doesnt change his mind and attitude i think its fine. when u love some one u accept him as he is.

Smoking pot and drinking Somras is inseparable part of our past. You said that it is up to you to express your love or keep away.It is not love.If you mean to say that you should sleep with him or stay away and sleep with somebody else,it is your decision.Have fun.
