You could try my parents solution, go to the animal shelter find one that looks like yours and if not complete match say it has either gone on a diet or it has been to the hairdressers. Alternatively it may be a good time to tell her things dont live for ever and it has gone to a better place. Not sure with cats where the better place would be though, mine just sleeps and eats and then demands stroking every so often, otherwise ignoring me because I am an inferior being!

How old is your sister? wsa she very fond of the cat?

It's a bit mushy but you could say the cat has crossed the Rainbow bridge to the great litter box in the sky! or something like that!

To tell your sister just plain out say it or start talking about cats then if she asks how yours is doing just say he died,if she doesn't ask just say it.
My goodness theres so many other ways but good luck anyway!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Ah.. everything that lives dies. I know the sorrow you feel, but death is a natural part of living. I would tell your sister this, and God bless you

well if it was your cat then why cant you just say "hey sis, my cat died" ? was she also attached to it? I have had lots of cats and it may be hard to deal with it at first but... you do get over it.

Just break it to her gently, and do it better then my mom did when my cat died: "Come bury your cat" at 7am when I was half asleep.
