i found it easiest waiting until summer, then letting them run around the house without any pants on. they cant hold at all when they r little - so pants can be hard to get off in time. be prepared for messes around the place, lots of accidents. dont rush them. it isnt hard if they r really ready. we didnt bother with rewards - they dont work well with my kids - we just gave praise when they got it. my son had no worries with bladder training, but we could not get him to do poos in the toilet. but then, one day, we were in his room reading a book, and he goes - "oh oh - poos" and ran off to use the toilet! i was stunned. after all that - and he just did it himself - when he was ready. he has never had an accident. i recommend letting them lead the way.

I made a potty calandar. Every time my daughter used the potty she was able to put a sticker in the square. Once it filled up, she could get what ever she wanted from the toy store. Just don't make the calendar lenghty. 8 to 10 squares.

Good Luck

Talk to him about it all the time. Let him watch you or dad on the toilet, and talk to him about how big boys go potty on the potty and not in their pants.

Start talking about how yucky it is to have to change his diaper, and how he's a big boy and can go potty in the potty now.

It takes a little time, but every kid wants to be more grown up.

Keep the pamper off ! Let them watch the adults and older siblings, make a big deal about buying big girl/boy undies. Clap, praise, dance, celebrate when they go ! Good luck !

i sat with my kids in the bathroom and read them a book or something to keep them interested until they went....then rewarded them...worked great on my daughter..took awhile for my son but boys are often slower at potty training

well its like this, if it is a girl mommy takes her and a boy daddy takes him. but seriously try to monitor them on when they need to then use the timing thing like making them go when they don't have to. praise them when they do right. sometimes you'll have to be firm and make them sit there until they do. it'll be frustrating with all the crying and wining. but praise them when they do and stick to the script. they'll catch on. praises and spankings they'll catch on.
