...When girls tell me I have "pretty eyes?" I know that they're probably looking for some specific answer, other than, "Uhhh, thanks," but I dunno what... And "Your eyes are pretty too," is out of the question... last time I tried that, the girl's boyfriend walked up. O_o

A simple thank you if sufficient.
When I compliment someone, I am not looking for a compliment back. I am genuinely complimenting someone. You should not feel like you HAVE to return a compliment. Sometimes, girls will do that to let you subtly know they are interested in you, but most of the time, it is genuine and doesn't have any added meaning like that.

No, just a thank you is fine. It's true though most guys have "pretty eyes", you're lashes are longer and curled up. So they're prettier b/c you did't have to make them that way

I guess you could say something like, "It is my best asset," or "only asset'" or "I wish I had as good a brain," or think of another word to replace brain. "If I could only exchange them for better grades in math." Think of something that the Lion, or the Tin Man, or the Scarecrow could have said in the Lizard of Ooz.

wear shades, if a girl told me i had pretty eyes, id prolly would pause for a sec, and be like uhh,,, thanks =] i get that alot.
even if a girl takes that much time to notice your eye color she prolly wants the wang, so hit back on her complement something about her looks.
