I am in the marching band and after marching season, the band is going to have a homecoming sort of dance. It is a little more casual than an actual homecoming however. It is very cheap (10 dollars admission). We are allowed to bring someone with us from outside the band. Now there is this girl i like who i want to take with me. Admission for her is $12 since she is not in the band. Of course i can cover the cost for both of us. What i want to know is if this is the right thing to do if i am planning a relationship with the both of us. Should I try something else? Will she take this the wrong way ans think that i am actually going on a date with her. Remember, im just interested in starting a relationship not jumping straight into one. Trust me, at my school, jumping right into a relationship leaves you dumped. So am i right to invite her? Also, the thing is not till the beginning of December.

You could tell her there is a dance coming up in December for the marching band and you would like for her to go with you. Most girls are going to say it is a date especially since it is a dance, unless you state you want her to go as friends.

Tell her you would like to get to know her slowly and start off as friends. I find that honesty is the best way. If only others were that way with me. Let her know your feelings from the get go. Enjoy her friendship and enjoy the dance.

You have to start somewhere. Don't make it more complicated than it really is. High School isn't the best time to start a relationship 'cuz most people aren't mature enough to handle it or understand what COMMITMENT means. Be straight forward with her, let her know your intentions and your concerns. If she's mature enough and likes you enough, you'll be off to a good start by establishing good communication and honesty. If she's not mature enough or doesn't like you enough, then you'll save yourself the months of tip-toeing around trying to sneak your way into a relationship. Good luck.

Love is the answer to everything. All you ever need is love,
communication and understanding. That's what I figured out so
far. If you are down, you need to get up and start doing something with
your life. Don't need to be shy, be straight forward and allways say what
you want and expect from the others.
