I am not entirely sure of what you mean.. but if I wanted to weld two fittings to a pipe.. yes.. I could do it

And even if reasonable it would depend on the material of the elbows, etc. and what the pipes were carrying - some fitting are cast and have protective plating that would burn off in welding.

Yes, 2 fittings of same MOC can be welded directly in piping.

But it is not a good enginnering practise.

You have not given sufficient data regarding application (i.e. fluid handled, temperature, pressure, flow, type of connector.)

The answer may be different for different situation.
(If you dont have 90 degree elbow and have 45 degree elbows , then you can join two elbows to make it 90 degrees in case of urgencies.)

You don't say what kind of pipe and the question is very vague, but I would say yes.

Yes one is extension and another is elbow.
