lie on your back and put you hands face down on the floor under the small of your back. then alternate legs like riding a bike. Out and back again. as quick as you like so not to strain anything with the unbalanced weight for to long.. This exercise can be catered to your ability!

I have lower back issues as well and I have found that crunches and other ab exercises done on a stability ball is very gentle on the lower back.

I would avoid straight leg lift type exercises because they can hurt your back if you've been injured or have back problems. Reverse crunches are great because you can keep you knees bent to take some of the strain off your back. I think they take longer to get results, but they do work. Good luck

lie on the floor and do crunches. make sure you don't lift your head up too much or it may strain your back. and make sure that you hod your stomach muscles in while you're doing it.
