I've become friends with a cat, he isn't fully grown but is bigger than a kitten. He's a lovely tabby cat, and really friendly. He came in to my hosue today, and I was playing with him, dangling a shoelace in front of him. He was really playing, then he grabbed the shoelace and ran off! He was running down the street with my shoelace dangling out of his mouth. I was wondering if he will ever bring it back? I've never known a cat to run of like this with playing, usually my cats just drop if when they realise it isn't moving!

I don't think it will bring it back - he has probably taken it as a present for his owner. Sorry.

Don't you realize this is the opening move in a game of "Chase Me"? Cat takes an object human wants and runs with it. Human chases cat up and down and all around. When cat gets tired he drops object.
He'll be back, shoelace won't be and he will probably be puzzled why you didn't play with him when you seemed to be such good friends.
it's OK. Cats forgive.

The cat ran off with your shoe lace out of instinct. In the wld, when cats catch their prey, they drag it to their "safe place." Your freindly stray will come back and visit you again, but I am afraid you have seen the last of your shoelace. Besides, even if the cat was thoughtful enough to return it to you, you wouldn't want it anymore becuase it will be pretty well chewed up and filthy.

Animals sometimes surprise us!!
I was just wondering if you are more concerned about the shoe lace or the cat never to be seen again!! I think obviously the cat!! You like the cat, and I think you were entertained rather!! Go buy a new shoe lace and wait for the cat to come back to entertain you just more!! LOL!! :)

In the unlikely event of the cat bringing your shoe lace back it will most likely be in an unusable condition. Go and buy a new pair.

I doubt that cat is going to bring it back if he does thats amazing! But my cat eats it's shoelace when we give it one to play with. Every time I see it it's shorter and shorter!

Cat burgulars never return the goods. Get a new lace from outside a shoe shop like we did as kids.
