Some scientists speculate that there are many universes, among them is Sir Martin Rees, the Astronomer Royal of England and President of the Royal Society.
One of the chief reasons that some believe in this hypothesis is that our universe is "fine-tuned" for complex life to evolve and there doesn't appear to be any good reason why this should be so. They posit that there are many (perhaps an infinite number of) universes and that we are in one that does allow for life. Some critics argue that many universes do not solve this problem, since the overarching "multiverse" would itself require fine-tuning.
However, there is yet no observational evidence whatsoever to support the hypothesis and many other scientists are very dubious of the idea.

theoratically multiverses have been explained.... the fact that the gravitational force is so weak even though it travels across the universe is that its energy is distributed between these multiverses.... while the electromagnetic force is some trillion trillion times stronger than the gravitational force even then it does not have the same effect as that of the gravitational force on the universe.... this seems to confirm the idea.... but i dont think that multiverses have been practically confirmed... if they are confirmed then time travel may be a reality... because it eliminates many of the time travel paradoxes..... like the one which states that if you go back in time and kill your grandfather before your parents were born then you would not be born right??? so then who killed your grandfather??? so this paradox is solved as you could escape to another universe and kill your grandfather there.... here you should know that these universes are very much similar to the one that we live in ie there will be an earth a sun... that sort of simlilarity but with slight variations... like you not being there in one universe.... in another the guys never went to the moon.... that sort of differences... trivial ones when seen from an universal scale.....

I think definitionally "universe" is supposed to encompass the total....
but if you consider it like....
Universe::Galaxy:: solar system,
then IMO its quite likely that theres some... larger scale of say a "multiverse" that is made up of universes.... and then a OMGWTF-verse made up of multiverses, ect....
and the same in the other direction.
thats the fun part about infinity.
edit: what I'm talking about is all on a "equivalent" plane... both:
>>"according to string theory, there are an infinite number of universes."<<
and
>>"Not only that..but there are more universes on a different vibrational level (dimension) that we can't see! "<<
are paralell to this one, essentially overlapping in a different "angle" "dimensions" that are aligned to this one on different tangents and such, where universes as I'm talking about are all on one "layer"
say 1 point in physical space has XYZ coordinates, Plus Time, thats 4 dimensions. well, lets say theres... oh, 12 other "dimensions" of coordinates, each point of whatever scale you chose, would have a corresponding point to every scale of every other point on every other plane on that scale of various paralell dimensions.
its enough to downright give you a headache.

There are truths that mankind has favourite in preserving with what we may be able to at the moment understand. those truths are relative and incomplete. even as on the different hand I even believe there's a truth, that is God's truth and that's absolute. God's note is truth and that i believe Jesus develop into God's truth personified. And no matter if that's well-known, the reality received't replace.

Yes there are such suspicions, theories and proposals, but obviously there is no way of testing such a theory, let alone proving it. Therefore all such theories will remain forever in the realm of philosophy, not science. The word "universe" means "including all".

The physical universe we SEE with the unaided eye, is
considered to be the 10th level below what we call
GOD.
Yet, every dimension is believed to have multi-dimensional
qualities within itself.
The possibilities are endless.
