Why do some people have so much trouble fathoming their own potential?
that is, some people have spiritual "gifts"... abilitys, ect. some do not.
why do so many that do not, beliver in religion or not... have *SO* much trouble fathoming that some people might be able to perceive something, and it be totally real, that they are unable to percieve?
I mean I admit it would be kinda scary.... but I would think the potential of understanding would make it worthwhile.
sometimes it feels like I'm a regular guy, walking into a village of natives somewhere totally separated from the rest of the world, that happens to have a village wide, genetic fluke that makes it so *NOBODY* in the village has been born with (functional) eyes for as long as anyone can remember.
I know it'd be hard for them to concive of color... of sight... but would it be SO absolutely impossible to conceive that they'd defy it existing, absolutely, simply because they have no concept of it?

I hope this is making sense, but its just boggling to me how people claiming to be intellectually superior through their profound reasoning and rational enlightenment that these things that have no proof, can't conceive of there existing a sense, and a layer of existance that they are simply unable to percieve.
a nation of people who were universally born blind, could develop fully as we have... but without sight and color. and to them, colors would be as utterly nonexistant to them, as say... ghosts are to people who have no spiritual awareness/sight. their technology wouldn't even be capable of detecting color!! why would it? why would a machine or technique developed by people who have no concept of vision, have any variable for color, whatsoever? it wouldn't.
