Most women (despite if they like a guy) will not want to ask him out...

If we all want to be treated equal then women should act equal and ask men out, not all of the time, but at least for their fare share!

After all men suffer through tons of rejections and they have to bounce back .... why don't you women just say what you feel???

DON'T ANSWER BY SAYING "I AM NOT LIKE THAT" I am not speaking of specific cases; yet we all know women for the most part women don't ask men out (even if they want to go with the guy).

I feel that if women really wanted to be accepted as equals here is a good place for them to start....

A very good question. So much for feminism lol! Something to think about here. Must I chuck in my two cents, it has always been a traditional approach that men ask women out. Now that you've brought it up, I suppose ladies gotta do something about it huh?!?! LOL! This is going to attract some pretty interesting discussions.. Good go buddy

I'm a guy but I totally agree. Women are pampered in the US by males desperately willing to validate attractive women. What really shows the double standard is the Man Show's clip about how desperate men can get for wanting sex (the short "Man will do anything for sex"). While a woman can easily coax a sex starved man to do anything, a man can't do the same here (he will be called a pig). Depressing double standard, really.

How do women expect men to want to approach if they are afraid of being shot down as a sex hungry man? It's counter productive to women to be defensive rather than progressive and approach the men they want (instead of giving vague indicators of interest. bah).

I am a middle age man and I respectfully disagree. It is normally a man's place to ask a woman out. This "equal" business usually has something to do with feminism.

I don't believe you have a lot of understanding, with all due respect. If a woman wants a man, she does not have to ask him out. She has all the tools to get a man and any woman worth being called a woman knows how to do this.

On rare occasions a woman might invite a man to a family outing or a barbeque if the man is special, decent and has a lot of character. These are just my thoughts, but in general, I think it's plain ridiculous for women to ask men out, and inappropriate.

THAT IS WHAT I WOULD TELL MY DAUGHTER, and I always give the same advice to people here that I would tell my own children.

I share your sorrow, but it is still more appropriate for a guy to make the first move. If we get rejected, just move on. If we do not try, the girl wouldn't. The most the girl can do is to give you hints if she wants you to go out with her.

The actual reason why most women are afraid to ask a guy out is because she fears it might put him off. Cuz it might make him seem less of a man.

I agree that we should. The problem is that i've been there & done that. Making the 1st move brings u across as an 'aggressive/assertive/strong woman' and -unfortunately- most men are intimidated by it.

Plus, a man secretly likes to thrive before having a girl. He would mistake the woman for an easy one when she puts herself out there for him.

It's a shame, I like telling a person when I like them! & Mind u, I still do anyway :)

Everyone gets trapped into following the stupid rules. It may be a situation that neither gender likes, but you follow the rules because you live in a society where those are the rules and you will look weird sometimes if you don't follow them.

Women feel it is the man's job i guess. If a man cant bounce back from a failed relationship, then he is weak and should not be dated.
