I have driven numerous Maximas,
and they are a wonderful car. They have a smooth ride, plenty of power, and nicely equipped.
From a service standpoint, Nissans are very reliable transportation, as well.

Ah another Nissan Maxima owner. I own one and bought mine used. First check the oil filler cap make sure there is no white milky substance on the bottom of the cap. Prone to head gasket problems. Next take it for a test ride find a really big open parking lot were you can make alot of sharp turns left and right listen for a clunking sound also prone to bad CV axles. Next make sure you try all the gears the maximas are prone to power band slippage and this could lean to a slipping trans or a blown trans. I have had no problems with my Maxima even though I have sunk acouple of grand into mine to make it into a show car but it has run like a dream since I bought it and I will never get rid of it. There good on gas and great in the snow my maxima now has 289,000 miles on it and the most expensive part I have put into it was the timing belt. But thats normal wear and tear. Good luck hope this helped

The Maxima is a good car. Smooth, reliable and good engines. Depending on your market, you can compare with other Japanese cars like Honda Accord and Toyota Camry.
If you prefer automatic transmission, take the 3.0 liters engine.
Roadhandling is good and comfort very good.
