I have the same problem. I used a product/vitamin once called horsetail something, and I did get results, but the new hair was horrible, fuzzy like steelwool. I think the idea is to stop the hair from falling in the first place. The culprits are: 1) genetics (very little you can do about it), 2) stress (you know, yoga, laughter, etc.. will help), 3) medicines (think whether you've started any medication, and ask whether it can cause hair loss. I was on Depakote once and it was lethal to my hair). Now taking a multi-vitamin every day cannot hurt and may help! And, do wash it less often. Believe me, you CAN go down to once every four days, and that really helps with hair loss.

first and foremost watch ua diet, do not over do the chemical, the hair needs a break. try plaiting for a time

Oh yeah... use Loreal Elvive Shampoo and Conditioner. it's really good. it make your hair soft and gives it volume.
