Don't even try. I get my best ideas when I'm being lazy.

We are all guilty of being lazy. Whether it is for mowing the lawn, cleaning the house, or doing homework. We always find ourselves fighting laziness. Even though laziness is never as rewarding and fulfilling as actually completing something well done, why is it so overpowering?

I think it has something to do with not liking change if you are comfortable. For example, if you are very busy, you did not feel tired or lazy until the moment that you stop being busy. And vice versa, if you are relaxing or idling, you are very unmotivated to start doing something else. In other words, our body and mind does not like change. I guess that is why I am not a morning person.

So, the best advice that I can give is to keep busy. Each day, always plan a packed schedule ahead of time. Leave no vacant time unless it is also scheduled, such as watching your favorite television show. When I was in college, I always took more classes than what was considered a full-time load, and I had a part-time job too. It also helps to set aside some time at the end of the day, typically right before going to bed, to think about how we used our time inefficiently, so that we minimize repeating the same mistakes so often. I also found that I always try to accomplish everything on my “To Do” list that day, so it does not impact my plans for the next busy day.

I also found that being overwhelmed by a new project gives me a strong urge to be lazy and to turn on the television. I recommend to mentally break down the tasks necessary for the project. And before I know it, I am already looking forward to actually start working on the project.

My biggest proof of how lazy I am is exercising,. or rather just thinking about going to exercise. I literally have to make myself stand up and walk around briskly to shake of this laziness. Trust me, it is very hard for me each and every time. After a moment or two, I feel slightly exhilarated with my heart pumping a bit. Now I am ready to start exercising. It also helps me that I plan to exercise each Wednesday and Sunday morning.

I know that I will never truly stop being lazy. But as soon as I realize that I am being lazy, I will start doing something. Pretty soon, I will feel much more motivated and full of energy. It is only through brute force of will power and self disciplined that I actually stopping being a couch potato and Internet surfer.

Now if I can only get my cat to stop being a perfect example of laziness.

Hi, I am not quite sure what you mean. "Laziness" can be defined as unwillingness to do certain things you find effort-soaking or unpleasant.

Tell you what, usually people would be "lazy" because they know there is someone else to do things for them - eventually. Like teenagers don't clean their room because they assume eventually their mom would get disgusted and do it herself. Or people don't take out the trash because they expect their roommate or spouce to do it.

Point is, you should try living on your own. That will teach you and make you do a lot. If you can't afford that, simply try doing the things you hate as soon as possible. For example, when I hate doing the dishes, I do them right after I have finished my meal. That way it is off my mind.

And once you start doing things right away, you will get used to it before you know it. Also, make sure your friends know about the change you're going through. They will be supportive and you will be even more proud of yourself. That is SO important.

Set yourself small and attainable goals. Reach each goal in the shortest possible time and then set a new one, slightly bigger and perhaps a little more difficult to achieve. Great satisfaction and often huge monetary rewards come from this.

For instance, Resolve to do the ironing or wash the car perhaps. Once you have started this don't stop until it's done. You could think about your next goal while you are busy doing the first one, like doind the dishes or polishing the car next. You will soon find it very rewarding and feel satisfied.

I don't believe in "laziness". Lazy is such a judgemental word. I think that sometimes people lose motivation in doing things because they're depressed. Trust me, I know! Get psychological help. I did and through therapy and medication, I got out of my slump. Good luck.

simple "laziness" does not clearly explain anything. since when r u feeling lazy? what's ur age? and have u gained wt in the period when u r feeling lazy? do u exhaust easily from slightest work? have u started feeling chilly from the slightest colds? if yes, b sure that u r not suffering from hypothyroidism.

Yoga...meditation. Start talking positive to yourself...say you are NOT lazy and try to complete every task you take up.

You have actually won half the battle with a desire to overcome. Now its action time!

Do something not lazy. After a few minutes, you'll be not lazy anymore. Believe me, if you intentionally be not lazy, you'll be not lazy unconsciously after a time. :)

laziness is not a curse.It is a god given gift to you.It means god love you too much.He want you to relax.Let your spouse work for you.If possible get 3-4 hard working spouses.Good luck.
