To answer your sarcastic question in an honest way: I think SOME christians really are such loving people with such gentle words-TRULY because they believe that the meaning of the word Christian is to be Christ-Like. And the Bible says that Christ was loving with gentle words, so SOME christians try to model that behavior, etc. TO answer your sarcastic question in a more literal way (and by the way, I am in NO WAY condemning you for asking this question in a sarcastic way, because I do think I understand where sarcasm often comes from): Much of Christianity and religion in general is based in fear. THE FEAR OF GOD LEADS TO THE PATH OF RIGHTEOUSNESS. I have been told that the word fear, really means "respect", and not actually FEAR as we should be afraid of God or His wrath, but I DON'T BELIEVE this. I DO think that the word FEAR could very well mean TO BE AFRAID of Him and especially His wrath. I guess the thinking is that FEAR of the wrath or Hell will keep us from sinning. I don't think this works too well. My god that I WANT to believe in is NOT a God of fear, but a God of Love. I do think I am in a minority on this thinking, though, but I would like to further it in my mind. Anyway, this doesn't really answer your question, and I dislike the phrase, "hate the sin, love the sinner", but I do think I understand why you hate "their" religion. I guess, though, don't just PITY these people, but pray for them, to YOUR God, and try to understand why they act the way they do. My loving words in the name of peace would be: Try to be loving and accepting of all people. Believe in the good in everyone and have faith in something higher than yourself.
We do have one thing in common- we are all humans who continue to search for something to believe in, something to save them, a place to believe in- after death. Also, practice random acts of kindness. I really do believe in Karma. (Or what goes around, comes around). So, be careful of what you got "going around". Of course, I could be wrong about all this!

We are instructed to do so by Jesus THROUGH the Bible.
"But speaking the truth in love, may grow up into him in all things, which is the head, even Christ"
-Ephesians 4:15
But you know, not all words are gentle. Remember this people:
TRUE love is TOUGH. and the most enjoyable. Don't go for anything else. Why I mention this? Because the truth hurts. But it will set you free:
"And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free."
-John 8:32
No one is perfect. Don't forget. ^_^

My favorite one is "Love the sinner, but hate the sin."
I have met very few people who are truly able to love someone whom they consider to be in a state of sin. Rather than actively loving the person and being a good, supportive friend or neighbor, they avoid them, as if they might become contaminated. They state adamantly that they love the sinner, but can you really call it love when the only contact you have with your neighbor is telling him that he will go to hell because he is in love and shares a committment with another man?

Good question...but I offer no answer, because good questions lead to better questions, and the question I ask is...
"Are you critisising Christianity or the Christian?" reason I ask is that there is a clear difference...Christianity is perfect, and is taught by its perfect instituter, Jesus Christ. But mankind are no perfect, and certainly not every Christian is perfect, that is why we need Christ to get there...but on the way, our imperfection sometimes gets in the way and every human being is subject to sin and wrong-doing.
now you get the drift of my question??
God Bless you pal... :-)

properly ur being a touch controditory [i imagine i in simple terms made up that note...] and over reacting only a touch saying u hate sumone for his or her oppinion [even no matter if that's dumb] is an same as them hating u for being gay being gay isnt a call yet performing on that's no one suggested u cant be christian if ur gay the bible aslo says that each and every individual liars, cheaters, and stealers will bypass to hell yet church homes international r full of them dont pressure the hell element reason John 3:16 obviously states what's needed of u going to heaven and no the position in that scripture does it say "except gays, they bypass to hell" and that's unlike holocaust because we are no longer death in the thousands for being gay even as that takes position then i will agree i understand what u're saying yet u favor to tone it down somewhat

SHUT UP FOOL!!! Does that help? If you just sat at your computer reading posts, never responding, never asking a question, the worst anyone could say about you is, "Man, he looks stupid."

Christians aren't perfect - only forgiven.
I don't know whose words these are, but they are not mine. For the record, I get your juvenalian (named after the person Juvenal. Note that it is NOT the word juvenile) satire and don't want it!
