Would it be too much trouble for some parents to sshhh! their children once in a while? Yes children have to play, but do they have to bellow all the blooming time? Three little lads under the age of 7 are visiting their grandparents next door and are shouting and squealing as loud as they can but not once have they been told to keep it down a bit. Whatever happened to peaceful Sundays? (Mind you, these people once had a little dog that was never told to stop barking, morning noon and ******* night, and eventually got so hysterical about nowt it gave itself a heart attack.) Maybe these people just don't hear noise?

I do live in the country, beside a farm. You'd expect it to be peaceful here, wouldn't you??

Useless info, I wanted to keep a hen and cockerel in the garden as pets but the neighbours objected about the noise before he was even old enough to crow.

Have you ever tried to tell kids to be quite, not an easy job and 3 boys together is a nightmare. The people next door to you are propably a family that is use to a lot of noise. If things are getting to much why don't you apporach the neighbours about the noise levels in a friendly way, maybe ask them for coffee and ask them how the lads are and just sort of slip it in that they are a bit noise at times. If this doesn't work, move or be more direct.

Try working in a supermarket! even closing the office door you can hear the little darlings who love shopping! Unfortunatly apparently kids rule the world and you do get imune to the sound. (I don't have kids) And then someone points out the kids making noise then all you can hear is kids making noise!

Once a Police officer wrote to our store asking for a child free day!! So funny reading that out in the managers meeting!! :)

about this frustration, get a drum & bang on it @ all hours

Sounds to me like you have no life and are jealous of the proud grandparents that are your neighbors. Maybe if the shoe was on the other foot and you had your children and your grand children over to YOUR house for a visit you wouldn't be having such a problem with the neighbors. You sound very resentful of what your neighbors have.....

Why don't you pick up the phone and call your family for a visit or better yet. Why don't you go visit your family. Maybe with your attitude and bitterness you've alienated all your family!

It's not that the people don't hear the noise their grand children are making....the noise they hear is happy sounds that their grand children are making.....and these happy sounds give the grandparents a grand warm and fuzzy feeling inside!!!!

Make yourself happy.....and quit being so damn selfish, self-centered and start thinking about others and sharing..their happiness by not being such a BEOTCH!

all kids are noisy...you cannot stop them squealing and shouting, they have built in amplifiers, the more they get shouted at to shhhhhhhhhh the louder they get....kids are kids, let them be noisy....i am sure you were just the same when yo were a kid.....there's nothing you can do about it really other than put up with it, if you went next door and told the neighbour to shh the kids they would prolly tell you to mind your own....

I know what you mean, as a cab driver I take a lot of mothers and children, I am sure some of them are deaf to their own children and do not care about their behaviour while in my cab, give me drunks any day over badly behaved children.

Well its hard to shut kids up. I mean they must get frustrated too. You cant just turn to a kid and go "Shut up". But if they are your neighbours maybe you could ask them to keep it down. If they dont ask your other neighbours to try and help you to try and make them calm down. Lastly you could also complain...
