I am a regular visitor of this site, but suprisingly I always find very different names. I would like to know if you are one of them then why you don't want other people to know your real names.

For all different reasons. If you want to ask a personal question under your real name,you don't want a relative seeing it. A lot of people use variations on their real names,because you can forget who you are and any problems in your life,for a while. I'm not about to tell you if I am one of these people or not and I doubt if anyone else will

Some people have an alter ego and the Internet is the perfect way for them to be whom ever they please. They can be rich and have a lavish lifestyle, be young and beautiful, when in fact they are the exact opposite.
But there is no way of telling if they are telling you the truth.

Its safe. I ask a lot of personal questions which I have been thinking about myself and am embarrassed to ask others. If I give my real name and someone finds out, I will be ashamed.

Avoiding backlash from those who would just be hurtful, annoying and resentful, people can be quite cruel you know, anonymity is a great shield of protection while still being able to voice your opinion without the fear of retribution.

why would I want to put my real name on this format...there are too many weirdo's mixed in with the regular everyday nice people, that could, IF they are computer savvy, find out where you live possibly, or hack into your computer, or whatever, and I don't want internet weirdo's bothering me....you want them bothering you???...this is a form of entertainment of sorts, not for actual communication in your every day life....Its a question and answer site....and that's all it is.....or for me, that's all I want it to be for me....
