You are only considering abrahamic religions.
There are others that don't agree with the one god theory.

The thought of religion and its creation was genius really. What easier way to control people and their actions than the threat of eternal damnation for their sins? Religion was created to keep people in line and to persuade them into following a strict moral code. Also, it helped people get over their fear of dying by promising them everlasting life. The most brilliant part of the whole thing is that no one comes back from death. It’s highly unlikely there will ever be that guy who comes back and says, “I was there. It’s real.” This is what makes it work.
Religion is broken down into 10 major religious groups: Christianity, Islam, Hinduism, Buddhism, Sikhism, Judaism, Bahá'à Faith, Confucianism, Jainism, and Shinto. It is difficult to acknowledge any one religion as being accurate or any one God as being exact when there have been numerous throughout human history. None appears to have any greater claim to being more credible or reliable than any other. Why Islam and not Hinduism? Why Christianity and not Judaism? Why monotheism and not polytheism? Every position has had its defenders, all as devoted as those in other traditions. They can't all be right, but they can all be wrong.
Perhaps the most basic reason for not believing in God is the absence of good reasons for doing so. The above are respectable motive for not believing, questioning, and eventually leaving whatever faith and religious beliefs a person might’ve had in the past. Once an individual gets past the bias in favor of belief they may realize something critical: the burden of support lies with those claiming that belief is rational and/or necessary. Believers fall short of meeting this burden and thus fail to provide quality reasons to accept their claims. As a consequence, those who don't already believe in God and/or who are not biased in favor of believing in God aren't given a reason to start.
Good Luck I hope this helps.

Does that mean we have to eliminate Christianity also?
2. The are a myriad of religions because there are a myriad of cultural backgrounds, a buffet of languages, a multitude of mental/empathic capabilities and ton of inclinations.
The Divine has been so very kind to turn on the light to show us the many paths, roads and ways to find the Supreme, sadly some blindfold themselves to remain in the dark, while other behave like horse with those eye covers and can only see on narrow little pathway. Whichever brings you "there" THAT is the true way

Religionis losely defined as a belief in a God or Goddess OR Gods and Goddesses that are responsible for the creation of the world.
What I find funny is how people like to argue on the meaning of the word.... My faith is NOT a religion, but a relationship to God or My Faith is NOT a religion but a way of Life, my path is NOT a religion but a way to reunite with the Divine Source.... Its a Whole Potato ( Po-Tay-Toe ) and Potatoe ( Poh-Ta-toe ) issue its just a definition. You can call it Ben and Jerrys and its still gonna be what it is. Just a word/label to define it... the essence ain't gonna change
WHo is our creator? WHo has Seen the creator? Who can confirm with 100% proof that their version of the Creator is THE ONE? If religion wasn't part of God's plan, he wouldnt have ALLOWED it to manifest and flourish like it has... either in a positive or negative light.
Organised Religion looks like its gonna burn itself out within the century, so... your wish to eliminate "religion" per se.... might just come to pass.

Um this is a very complexed question the best way I can answer is by saying their is only one true God who gave His only son that our sins are covered and we may have everlasting life. Basically what man have done was perverted and converted the Bible into what they want to be their truth. Islam, Jehovah Witness, Christian Science and all other religion have some relationship to the bible wheather agreeing on some or criticizing other parts of it.
To me to not about the religion its about fellowship so the Words of God wont get perverted or misinterpreted. Perhaps that's why they though black people were the devil...... Its not about eliminating religion then you get assimilation and you don't want good with the bad that's why you see some Christians in a club on Saturday acting like a heathen and in Church the next ( secular humanism ) But rather telling the uncompromisable truth about God and the love of His Son Christ and how He died on the Cross that we may be Free!!!!

Whether Jesus needed religion or not he was biologically Jewish through his mother. Im not saying which religion is the right one in order not to be racist but Chrsitianity started through a Jew and so did Islam. Hinduism is a wierd religion that consists on Idolaltry not God. No offence but I PERSONALLY don't think Jesus was a special Jew just because he was a sinner.

Look Islam, firstly, is the worshiping of the only God "Allah". Secondly, it is the religion of peace and racial equallity.
It doesn't call for killing and slaying innocent souls. Don't hear or even yield to the slandering, sleazing media, ok.
I'm just asking you to try to explore Islam; you may even ask me if you like because I'm an Egyptian-muslim.
All what you hear about Muslims as fanatics are all wronge; these are only some maniac extremists.
Islam makes you reach a very high spiritual level with Allah.
All Islam is about is worshiping God in your life, do good deeds and deligently work in life to be productive;
then after death you'll be "dipped" and eternally live in God's paradise, these are no mythologies.
The heathens well be thrown in the flaring hell, also eternally with no return.
My advice is to read about Islam and muslims, ok, good luck, and e-mail me if you like on ahmos_90@yahoo.com,
thanks for your patient reading....

With respect to religion and the question of what is the truth is still an open and unresolved question, even in the year 2006.
Is it Atheism? Is it Monotheism? Is it Pantheism? Is it Polytheism?
This question has raged among humanity with all of its' attendent results unabated since the beginning of the human era. Evidence
for this is clearly visible throughout the world today!
And since each human being has ego and each ego has an aggenda the struggle, a.ka. conflict, to determine "who is right" rages onward.
Have fun but be safe!

i keep asking myself this same question. I mean you chose the wrong one your going to piss god off. you chose the right one but who knows which one it is? I guess thats the meaning of life!
To find the true religion. Each minister thinks he has the right answer but who is old enough, who has been around since the dawn of time to ask? Each religion has thier own story to tell, i guess its personal choice and belief.
I belive that if you belive in god and do your own thing, be a good person, not do wrong and pray yourself, this is the right way. I dont think that you need to spend your sunday, or whatever day it may be to go to church to hear that when you die you will go to hell. Positive energy attracts positive energy, so its up to the individual i think. If you find out otherwise please let me know!

Religion is a result of cultural and historical events, that's why we have so many religions on the planet. In the end, I think we all worship the same god no matter who we are or where we live.
