I want to be a professional boxer but is it a sin to carry out this dream in Christian faith?

No it's not a sin, but if you were to hold a gun in it to kill wouldn't it be better to not have an arm to do that. Jesus is saying if anything in life was to cause you to sin get rid of it.

Where did you get the idea that boxing is against the christian belief? Go ahead be a boxer and win many matches! Personally i'd rather willingly hop in hell than chop my arms!

Um you have it all wrong if your reading from Timothy in context its talking about being an elder and the violence it refers to is equivalent to random acts ( you beat someone up for no reason )
if that were the case I would feel sorry for martial artist and football player. But go out there be safe and have fun perhaps this is the will of God for your life right now... But when in doubt pray and ask God is this Your will for me the way You want me to go He's the Only One Who Truly Knows.....

I'm not sure of the relationship between boxing and hell? I do know that it does say in the bible that if a part of your body is leading you to sin you should cut it off, but I would not take that literally.

You may have to chose one. You need a job to survive in this world. You will have to chose which is right for you but I never heard that Christians don't believe in wrestling or boxing before.
