"Because we live in a theocracy that pretends to be a democracy."

Actually, you are being ruled by a money-based aristocracy, but that is not relevant to the subject.

I'm an American and I'm actually Agnostic, but I lean towards Atheism. The responses to your post should make the answer obvious. When people say things like "Because they know God exist and are mad about it" and "I think all atheists are angry because it's their stubbornness that keeps them from seeking the God they secretly know is real." and on and on and on with similar comments, how can we feel accepted by our society? Heck, it just shows how ignorant so many Christians are about other beliefs. I do not feel sad and lonely without god's love... I feel sad and lonely without the love and acceptance of my neighbor. I am very secure and happy with my beliefs, but I am challenged to find a loving partner who will accept me for who I am and what I believe. It's so painful on top of that to be treated like an outcast by so many people in my country. And Christians really need to learn that just because somebody is Atheist that they're not a bad person. Most atheists have a great passion for being a positive force in their communities and are very loving people. Being Agnostic does not mean that they're "on the fence" or undecided about God... Being Agnostic is the belief that God can neither be proved or disproved. I don't think God exists, but I can't disprove the existence of God. Oh, and perhaps if Christians could be more accepting of Atheists, then Atheists wouldn't go to the ACLU every time you put up a freaking cross.

I seldom get angry but if pushed hard enough you know it
so what can one do in this pentocrasy which is what it is just because the wealthy try and force their ideology doesn't change the reason they can control people with money
should others be a little angry would that show good judgment ?
I have never condemned anyone one of them even if I considered their beliefs extremely intellectually bankrupt.and I still praise them oft time for their moral senses.

My friend, all I can say is that this world is ending and we don't know when it will. With that in mind, people will believe in false prophet's and make up new religion's to replace some kinda emptiness in their own heart's. The Lord Jesus Christ is real and atheist know that. How can anyone wake up and live and not see who created us? It makes no sense, and history has proved that the one's who don't get saved from their sin's will perish. As far as Europe goes, I know that is where Christianity flourished for thousands of years after it became the most powerful faith when Jesus died on the cross. Now that continent is just ridiculously out of control when it comes to violence and sin, and immorality. The U.S. that I love to live in is also going down the wrong path and that is because we have turned our back's on God.

I think all atheists are angry because it's their stubbornness that keeps them from seeking the God they secretly know is real. They blame God for their unhappiness rather than accepting the fact that they've had the same bad experiences in life that everyone has but it's NOT GOD'S FAULT. It's the poor choices people make and the consequences of those choices. I don't know about Europeans but Americans are angrier than I've ever seen us before. It's not a healthy way to live and it's hurting us.

I dunno about other Atheists, but I live in a coastal state. I really don't have issues of religion to deal with much at all. Most of the religious folks here are really nice, accepting, and don't knock on your door on sunday. I really have never experienced this whole "theocracy" they speak of. I hear the bible belt is the last place I'd want to be in life.

American atheists have no culture to fill the holes in the vacuum they create when they shift to atheism. Europeans have plenty of references in their history and all the best philosophs are European not American. Sorry Uncle Sam. By the way US Atheists are free to use European references.

Because we live in a theocracy that pretends to be a democracy.

And then we have to deal with people like Angel down there who decide to claim they know that our lives must be sad and miserable, which is a judgement of our hearts, when their own holy book says they're not to judge another's heart.

So it's not just a theocracy, it's a hypocracy too.

dont mistake anger for "ball busting". america is full of over zealous Christians, and this q/a forum is a great place to challenge them. some may be angry, but i find most atheists to be more compassionate than theists. this site here is a bit surreal, so i wouldnt judge by this alone .
