It means a pool. In other words, usually, a sheltered piece of water where boats can be moored.

Here is a list of Cornish names with their meanings: http://www.alanrichards.org/placenames.html

(Tre- means a farmstead and Pen- means a 'head', as in 'head of the river' or 'head of the tidal water' or 'head of the valley'. It can also mean a summit or a headland. Pendennis is 'headland fort')

Jesus and Jehovah are the same. Jesus = Jehovah's our salvation. But why even ask the question since you do not believe either way. Jehovah is the answer not the question! If you can't see God and you are a mother of 2 children, then that is sad. God is in everything and everywhere, with his breath all life manifest. Its like trying to explain the taste of ice cream to someone who has never eaten it b4. God reveals himself to his people and to his servants the prophets.

Primarily the word pol, literally means pool. However depending on the actual place you may have different names. The ones I can remember are:

Polzeath - Dry pool
Polhigey - ducks pool
Polglase - green pool

There are a few more but I cant remember them all!
