Don't let it haunt you because a lot of dogs in pet stores come from puppy mills and a lot of them are sick and don't survive long. My dog died in front of me and I had her for years. It still hurts but it doesn't haunt me where I wake up in the middle of the night thinking about it. Don't get me wrong I loved her dearly but since it just happened you will most likely be thinking about it for a few days but everythime the thought comes into your head just try to think of something else. I hoped this helped a little. the thought will go away with time. Good Luck

A lot of pet stores have dogs from puppy mills they often have multiple health problems and congenital problems. Also some of them do not take very good care of the dogs and puppies, it may have been sick, contact animal control in the area hopefully they will check it out to see if they have healthy puppies and are being cared for properly. It may also have had somethiing that is contagious and the rest of the animals may be sick.

I refuse to even look at the puppies in pet stores... you should NEVER NEVER buy a puppy from a pet store - this isnt unusual - pet stores are in it for profit not the love of animals - if they were in it for the love of animals they wouldnt be selling low quality pups for high prices to just any stranger who walks through the door - pet stores support the cruel industry of puppy mills..

some ignorant people think that by buying pups from pet stores they are "rescuing them" this is CRAP - infact these people are contributing and supporting the cruel industry.. soooooooooooooo

NEVER NEVER buy pups from pet stores

I am sorry you were haunted... I used to work for an animal shelter and we had to euthanize puppies every week because people were so stupid to allow their dogs to breed and other people were off buying from pet stores for hundreds of dollars rather than adopting one for less... use it as a life lesson

Pet store puppies come from mills and irresponsible breeders, many are too young to be removed from their mom and littermates, many are ill already or have been exposed to various diseases. It isn't unusual at all for pet store puppies to be sick and to die.
I'm so sorry that you had to experience this.

Since you witnessed it you should report it to the animal welfare department.

They got the puppys from a puppy mill. For one, that cute little puppy most likely came from a large-scale, substandard commercial breeding operation, commonly known as a puppy mill. Puppy mills usually house dogs in overcrowded and often unsanitary conditions, without adequate veterinary care, food, water and socialization. The breeding stocks at puppy mills (possibly your new puppy’s mom and dad) are bred as often as possible in order to increase profits. Unlike your lucky puppy, the mom and dad will probably never make it out of the mill. Goto www.ASPCA.com and report that pet store for animal cruelty.

i'm not somewhat particular what might ensue to the doggies, yet whilst all human beings stopped buying from puppy shops then I daresay - or desire - that the industry might finally disappear, which may be an stunning element! perhaps the unpurchased doggies might circulate to dogs shelters, the place there are already such an overpowering style of undesirable animals that it makes procuring from puppy shops or breeders - and the very act of breeding animals for the extensive industry - look an exceedingly absurd and saddening element altogether.

You must report this pet store to the RSPCA (Aus ot UK) or the ASPCA or Humane Society! That is NOT normal and indicates that the pet store is NOT looking after their live animals properly. Do it before anither poor puppy or kitten dies!

but it will be a cute little ghost he'll chew your shoelaces and you'll never know, he'll leave ectoplasmic puppy landmines that you'll never have to clean up. he'll bark and yipe at the bad spirits and keep them away...

i think your safe from the puppy poltergiest....

Now the pet shop owner that didn't properly take care of his animals he's the one thats going to get haunted.

I'm so sorry that you're tramatised by this incident. Sue the hell out of the pet store owner that you're totally affected by the death of the puppy and you're in depression.
