Czech prefered. La Fee Bohemian for example. Staroplznecky would be great too. Thanks for any info.

(I know you can buy Pernod and La Fee Parisian here and there, but I don't like them so much. And Pernod isn't REAL Absinth anyway).

Ed Knight got there first !! I too was going to recommend Gerry's. They have an incredible range of obscure liquers and they've been stocking a large range of absinthe's for some time. Easily gettoable being equidistant 5 -10 minutes walk from Leicester Sq and Picadilly tube stations.

I 'm surprised at your comment about Pernod. Pernot 69 is a real absinthe (and I 'd suggest more authentic than the recent Czech brands). Although Pernod couldn't sell absinthe in France they continued manufacturing it for export. At a tasting of absinthes at Vinopolis I preferred Pernod 69.

Pernod 69 absinthe isn't the same as the widely available Pernod pastis -- which was the wormwood free alternative they came up with after the French ban.

Definately the best place to buy any spirit is Gerry's Wines and Spirits, 74 Old Compton Street, Soho. Open: Mon to Fri 9am - 6.15pm, Sat 9am - 5.30pm They have a huge selection of absinthes and absinthe spoons...but remember to be responsible...enjoy :)
