Any foreign legal qualification isn't worth the paper it's written on in the UK. She MIGHT get a job as a legal secretary or something like that but then her language skills would be of more importance.

On the face of it, she doesn't leap off the page at me as someone The UK really needs as an immigrant, like Medical Doctors or trained Nurses.

"your girl" - what is that, your daughter or your girlfriend/Fiance?

If you are a british citizen (not subject) and you marry her, she will almost certainly get permanent leave to remain.

If she's your daughter AND you are a british citizen, then she is automatically entitled to British Citizenship herself - If you're her mother, but NOT if you're her Father.
See? English law is strange, we kinda make it up as we go along and an awful lot of it isn't even written down anywhere, except when quoted in case precedents (Common Law).

We're also absorbing a lot of immigrants from EU countries at the moment (we can't refuse these guys even if we wanted to, unless they are known criminals), so immigration from outside the EU unless you have skills that we're really short of is getting tougher every day.

People, whats wrong in an Indian person immigrating to the UK?

The British did invade India and drained their economy and took all their resources. The Indians were also forced to fight for the British during WW1 and WW2 during the British Empire.

Why are British People so Racist? Its ok for them to invade the world and colonise all these countries and steal their resources, but when these people that were under British ruling come to the UK to Work, the British don't like it.

BRITS ARE SO FCUKING racist.

I would suspect that she will have to do a qualification called the CPE Common Practicing Exam (I think) which is one year full time or two years part time, which can turn any degree into a english law degree, after that there is a qualification the LPC Legal Practice Course, again one year full time or two years part time, which will qualify her to apply for a training contract which will be two years. After completing this she will be a fully qualified Solicitor. I know that both these courses are offered on a part time basis at Nottingham. She could still work whilst doing either of these courses on a part time basis as a legal secretary of something like that, it is good to get in with a law firm first as it is hard to get a training contract.

Good luck to her!!!

I think the 'majority'of the UK would like it if she stayed in India to use her education and sort their problems out, instead of coming here and 'adding' to ours.

Why doesn't she want to improve the quality of life IN HER OWN COUNTRY? We have more than enough immigrants here, and the tide will soon turn, as I forsee a civil war happening.
