It's politically incorrect to say it, but we all know the answer to this -- it's because women in general know less about cars

Also, women usually think they have to be polite, but when negotiating for a car you have to be a jerk -- you have to just keep demanding a better deal

Because they like some males. Were not taught what to look for when shopping for a car. I was lucky my Dad taught me what to check for when buying a car either new or used. But some men are also tricked by car salesmen. Because they don't have the knowledge they need when they go to buy a car.
When we bought our last vehicle, I asked more questions and got a better deal than my husband was going to get.
People just need to be educated about things, in order to know how to deal with situations.

Well, I'm not trying to be sexist or anything but I would imagine it's because most women simply do not know much about cars. They know the basics like how to refill the fluids and things but as far as getting down to the nuts and bolts of car workings most simply do not know. I'm not trying to put down women or anything, it's just that they simply do not know what to look for when buying a car. The dealer knows this and he'll sell them a car using a lot of technical jargon to confuse them. This doesn't generally work on men because they grow up interested in this kind of thing and are often helping dad in the driveway under the hood as a teen. And I'm sure there is a good share of men out there who did not grow up in this kind of envvironment who have been duped too... Ignorance is simply not knowing, Stupidity is knowing and not giving a damn. Guys don't always know everything about cars though, my sister is one of the best damn mechanics I know. :)

Not necessarily, usually car salesmen are flatterers and they
will promise everything which they couldn't deliver.
Thus, women are more gullible with their promises and they
tend to be tricked by them.
As a result, it would appear that the car salesmen have taken
advantage of women buyers.

Some salesmen are good looking. They are skilled with flirting. And some women just fall for them.

Same reason they get bs'd by men and eventually dumped on. The fact that they then go back for more is the real puzzle.

because they are too trusting. They think the salesman is actually looking out for them instead of just trying to bag a sale.
