I have gone through this with four children and myself(cuz they put gum in my hair when I was sleeping) and I've tried peanut butter ugh! very messy and I've tried ice which I've never got it all out with. The best way is scissors there's no crying involved, unless you have to cut at the top. If that is the case you'll probably want to use one of the other methods mentioned to try to save your hair. Gas would work also but I would never suggest it it is very flammable and easily ignites and I'm just guessing but you sound young so please wake an adult if you intend to use gasoline!!

Some home remedies include - putting ice on it and cracking it off. Or using an oily substance, such as veggie oil or peanut butter to work the gum out. You can also go to many drug stores and purchase a special hair product just for that. I would use cutting as a last resort.

ITS REALLY EASY.
You can use anything greasy like peanut butter, margarine, cooking oil etc. Just keep rubbing it on the gum and it starts dissolving. Its like when you are chewing a piece of gum and you eat chocolate, the gum disappears. Then you just wash your hair. I have also used this method for gum stuck on my carpets. I HAVE KIDS.

soak the affected hair lightly in kerosene. this will make the gum dissolve & easy to pull off from the hair. lighter fluid or gasoline will do too. be careful though as these are more flammable than kerosene.

when you get chewing gum on your hair, do not cut nor shampoo and never put cold water on it. simply put baby oil and you will see the chewing gum melt and you can get it with tissue paper and it will get off to your hair strands.

if there is so much gum on the hair try to pull it off first if it doesn't really removes try to put thinner on it but not to much cause it will cause dryness of your hair after doing this processes go to the bathroom and shampoo and put conditioner on it to prevent hair dryness.
