Give them "gift certificates" for one or more of the following: Cook a really nice dinner for them and then do all the dishes. Clean the house for your mom and wash and vacuum out your dad's car. Or do all the laundry for a week. Or offer to take out the trash every day, or do a yard chore or clean the garage, or whatever. Whenever I would spend any money on my parents, they always chastised me for spending money on them, rather than thanking me for the gift.

Give them everything! Your "Love & Trust" and "Respect & Honor" Is really all they need. Take them to dinner and present them with a card and in the card tell them how much you love and appreciate everything they have done for you and if you have anything to be sorry for, tell them how sorry you are and mean it! Do this now before it's to late or you will regret it! If you want to "buy" them something, make it separete gifts and personal. Moms like perfume, clothes, etc. (you would know what your mom would like) and for your dad, a new shirt would be nice, cologne, etc. You know, just make it something personal though, they would like that most. Good Luck and God Bless.

You do not state what the gift is for? If it is a wedding anniversary or birthday's, Christmas? Well! for dad I'd get him something for his car, or golf if he plays, a handyman tool? a watch? how about a nice pair of house slipper's? bottle of wine? whisky? carton of beer? tickets to the footy? For mum, ear ring's? toiletry's mobile phone? A nice top? a pair of house sandals? Jogger's? give her a perm? A nice key ring. Or failing all that, shout them to a night out at a nice restaurant!!!

I agree with john h...hugs are great! But you might give them a nice photo of you. Or make them gift certificates for things you will do for them, like yard work, etc.

The best gift a person can give their parents is a hug and tell them you love them and make sure you mean it any other thing you can afford will be appreciated.
