it seems that attractive people DO get more attention. you cant tell me you cant see a difference between a "hot" chick and an "ugly" chick. and if physically attractive people dont get more attention, then why are all the popular kids at school better looking than the no so popular kids? so my real question is.... what is it thats attracting human beings to the physically attractive person? is it some kind of instinct?

im sure peoples tastes varies from person to person slightly.... but if i picked out someone who was ugly and someone who was hot, im almost certain you could tell the difference between the 2. im not picking on anyone, im just trying to prove my point that theres a difference phsically between the 2.

yes. it is an instinct, sadly... scientists have studied it and found that people with more "symmetry" in their facial features are more attractive, EVEN TO BABIES. this means you can't really be mad at someone for thinking you're ugly, because they can't help it - they were born with their brain that way. also, guys are genetically attracted to women with wide hips and large breasts because they make good mothers. women are attracted to rich older nice men because they make good fathers. also, they found that attractive people have better luck in job interviews and when asking for help from people. basically, they're born lucky in many ways. (on the other hand, they found that attractive people are NOT any happier than unattractive people, and also that rich people aren't happier than middle-class people).
the good news is, our biology isn't our whole destiny. i have a friend dating one of the ugliest guys i've seen in my entire life, and she's completely in love with him. everyone has their own idea of attractive and ugly. "there's someone for everyone." the ugliest, fattest people you can imagine ending up finding someone...

I think that Physically attractive people have less flaws that are visable to the naked eye. So you jump to conclusions that there just a better person. But ive gotten to know some "popular" people at my skool and while some of them are total bitches others are actually really nice. I hate people that think they are better than everyone else, and this is typically the popular crowd at school. Just cuz there attractive on the outside dont mean ****.

everyone needs a scale to judge by. so beautiful people are on the 10 side of the scale and I'm on the other end. That is the way life is. we need something to strive for and making everything a scale it tells us how much we have to work towards things. It's not fair but just is.

Basically when someone looks good everyone will know and try to be cool with them or be on with them if you catching my drift. It's like this, I play basketball and I'm somewhat popular and that I am attractive helps my cause.

It is a subconscious wish to only mate with attractive partners, so your offspring will also be attractive.
Not really relevant in the 21st century anymore.

because they look Good, and really isn't that the first thing you see.... too bad though, cuz the physically attractive people usually turn out to be the worst people, sad but true
