Make up at least 500 fliers. and post all over the area, especially around all schools..We actually went in to the schools and asked for permission to post on school grounds.. All schools gave us the OK..
Make certain a picture of the dog is on the fliers, even if it is just a drawing..people will always look at fliers with pictures..
We went door to door for 2 days..all day long.( in the snow!) .and passed out fliers..We talked with everyone we met on the street..
On the 3rd day, the owner got a call that someone had found her dog...BUT the caller wanted $500...He said he was out of work and his family needed the money..My friend paid it and got her dog back..
When my own dog was lost in the woods, he was gone for 12 days.. I posted announcements on the radio, called all vet offices, all shelters..People found him and contacted me by the radio announcement..
After 12 days, he was skin and bones, but so very happy to see me..Leaped into the car, and didn't want to get out..!
So, don't give up..!!

First is to contact the animal shelter. if he was picked up you want to get him out as soon as possible. If not there make sure you leave a lost pet claim with them in case he gets picked up later. They will need to find you in that case. Check the papers every day in case some one puts in a found ad and you place a lost ad. Yes put up fliers and cards around the stores. Some people refuse to take a pet they found to the pound thinking their owner may not want him and fear the worst if they do take him in. Hopefully they are wise enough to call the shelter to report him found. And I'm sure you have already scoured the neighbor hood. When dogs go, sometimes they go quite a ways. And when you DO find him think about getting him chipped. It may help if he ever gets out again. I wish you the best of luck and hope he finds his way home safely.

If your dog isn't already lost, recommend having a chip put in. It is a cheap and effective way of finding a lost dog. The chip doesn't hurt the dog, and they can be found anywhere.
If the dog is already lost, I suggest visiitng all the dog shelters in and around in your town. Put up fliers around town with a picture of the dog and a number where you can be reached.
Good luck in finding your dog.

Here in my town, people call one of our radio stations and they annouce it on the radio. They have a pretty good tracked record, they have had all the dogs found. They also talk about when someone finds a lost dog, it is really great.

First Id scan the neighborhood & call its name,,Post tons of signs all over your neighborhood & nearby hoods ,,add a pic if you have one. Check your local dogpound everyday if possible & let them know of your missing dog but still keep looking yourself . Put an add in the paper if you can & offer a reward!! Good Luck.I also found mine this way & one I didnt.

You should contact with your neighbour and inform everywhere who can recognize the dog.
