it messes with every system in your body. It cause not only lung issues but it cause high blood preassue (by constricing the blood vessles) and it decreases oxygen availability by replacing O2 with CO (carbon monoxide) which leads to a slow deoxygenation of all of your organs and a slow organ system failure.... you wont pee right, you wont think right, you wont move right, and you wont be able to breath... i bet you just wanna light up right now don't you...

It stiffens up every tissue in the body. Artheries, when not as flexible, don't allow the bloodstream to flow properly. Hence - hight blood pressure. One loses flexibility and stamina too. Lungs get covered in the smoke residue and don't absorb the oxygen so efficintly from the air anymore. This is one of the reasons people lose stamina. Liver has to work much harder to eliminate all the extra toxins that come with smoke. This affects the digestive system and heart as well, because liver is supposed to filter your blood. When so many systems are not working properly people are much more likely to get cancer and other deseases. The skin gets dry, the hair loses the shine.

All that, and it stinks and costs a lot of money.

Emphysema and it greatly reduces the lungs capacity to breath and filter the air. If an air filter on a car is not replaced the performance is reduced and can mess up the engine. It makes people look older thus bad for the skin. people cannot run because they are short of breath. Check out the American Lung Association for a lot of answers.

Tobacco can kill you. Smoking is the leading preventable cause of death in this country. More than 400,000 Americans die from tobacco-related causes each year, and most of them began using tobacco before the age of 18.
