I've never had a cast iron bathtub but I have cast iron pans and they need close attention so they don't rust. I would choose porcelain any day.

I agree with the white enameled cast iron. Porcelain does chip and get stained easier. No one likes cleaning their bathtubs!!

White enameled cast iron bath are durable and hardwearing. Holds heat in better too so your bath won't get cold as quick.
Porcelian are good too but I have had a problem in the past of them chipping or cracking if you drop something on them or in them.
